The following message was sent to the campus community this evening by President Marco J. Clark.
Dear ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Community,
We’re still buzzing with excitement from today’s groundbreaking for the expanded athletic complex—but there’s even more to celebrate.
With deep gratitude and great anticipation, I invite you to join us next Thursday, May 8, for another major milestone in the life of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ: the official groundbreaking of our new $12 million residential complex — the first new on-campus housing since North Hall opened in 2015, and the first new building on campus since that time.
This 29,000-square-foot three-story facility is scheduled to open for the 2026–27 academic year and will include:
- 114 beds
- Arches between future residence complexes
- Social rooms, kitchens, and community space on each floor
- Sacred space/chapel
- Meeting/conference room
- Study and reading lounges
- Laundry rooms on each floor
- Outdoor seating and a new residential quad
- Expanded parking facilities
This groundbreaking is more than a construction launch — it’s a powerful sign that Holy Cross is growing and thriving. Following our largest incoming class ever and record-breaking financial support, this new residence hall strengthens our mission to form innovative scholars, courageous citizens, virtuous leaders, and hopeful and passionate disciples while providing them with a transformative student experience in a vibrant on-campus community.
Come celebrate this historic day with us as we mark a new chapter in our College’s journey.
It’s always a great day to be a Saint—but especially now.
Ave Crux, Spes Unica,
Dr. Marco J. Clark
President
ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ at Notre Dame
